Late in 2016, at the end of the hurricane season, one of our largest oak trees was uprooted by Hurricane Matthew, after the storm it was salvaged and the trunk was re-purposed, with affection we have named this oak tree trunk, "Matthew's Arch", where many symbolic ceremonies have taken place.

Recently, we have added 22 hand-hewn rustic wood benches and are currently working on a one-of-a-kind country wedding altar - coming soon!

Come and visit us (by appointment only please) and see why your event can be hosted in such a special setting.

Jimmy Watson - Property Manager

As with the barn, in some ways Jimmy has been repurposed as well, going from a former career at NASA's Kennedy Space Center as a high crew welder to managing large grove properties, and taking care of the physical needs of The Big Red Barn.

The Big Red Barn has been part of a working farm for nearly half a century, and through this era has been the site of many family parties and corporate functions.

The Big Red Barn was hand built by local craftsmen around the late 1960s. Its foundation consists of creosote-treated twelve-inch pilings, which continue upward to serve as the main structural frame for the barn. It was originally built as a stable for horses, and included a small one-bedroom, one-bath residence inside the barn. The second story of The Big Red Barn housed hay for the horses. The original owner was a dedicated horseman in the truest sense of the word.

In the early 2000s, the barn was repurposed to focus on the new owner's 250-acre citrus grove business.

In 2014, the barn was thoroughly renovated to begin its third life as a special venue for weddings and other events.

In the past several years, further refurbishments were completed to the barn, such as, new exterior rolling barn doors that open into our beautiful twinkle light lined covered dance floor and reception area, presenting a serene ambiance.  Also, we added a hand-crafted bride and groom table and farmhouse tables.
